Transforming customer experience at Mascom


Mascom is Botswana’s leading telecommunications provider with a network coverage of 95% of the population. Mascom partnered with Entelect to design, build and implement their online portal.

The Entelect team sits remotely in Johannesburg and has a clear line of communication with the team in Gaborone through frequent stand-ups, sprint planning and retrospectives.

Design and user experience were key factors from the start of the project in order to ensure better user journeys. Some of the functionalities include purchasing of airtime, data bundles, fibre to the home, prepaid electricity, and payment towards DStv subscriptions.

Entelect is also currently building the front-end for MyZaka Mascom Money – a mobile money service that offers Mascom customers a convenient and secure way to send, receive, buy and pay using their mobile phones anywhere in Botswana.

The next phase is building the Mascom mobile app for both iOS and Android.
